The Influence of Different Focusing Currents on the Microstructure Evolution and Wear Properties of a Scanning Electron Beam Modified Inconel 625 Nickel Base Alloy Surface

The surface of Inconel 625, a nickel-base alloy, was strengthened by vacuum electron beam scanning technology. evolution its microstructure analyzed backscatter diffraction (EBSD) and the friction wear tester (RETC). results show that FCC phase in 625 alloy is stripped islanded after treatment. austenite texture type changes finally forms typical cubic with certain strength S texture. With increase temperature focusing current, resistance plates first increases then decreases. Under 720 mA volume rate are lowest, which 0.141525 mm3 1.41525 × 10−5 mm3/N∙m, respectively. decreases 26.64%, may be related to columnar crystals produced melting area. After modification, oxidation adhesive relatively smaller than original materials.
